PowerChess JUNE 2024 Summer Chess Camp

June Summer Chess Camp at The Miller Conference Center on SLCC Miller Campus in Sandy, Utah.  June 10th-13th (Monday-Thursday) from 9:00-12:00 

PowerChess’s Summer Camps are an excellent opportunity for students of all ages to improve their critical thinking skills and keep their minds engaged over the summer break. In the PowerChess Tournament Chess Summer Camps, students will advance their chess knowledge and experience through presentations and hands-on application of new opening positions and tactical ideas, tournament-length gameplay, game analysis, and, yes, students will have the opportunity to play against each other in a BLITZ tournament! 

PowerChess Tournament Chess Summer Camp is geared towards students who have, at a minimum, an understanding of chess piece movement, basic mating patterns, and a LOVE for everything chess. Students will continue to grow in their mastery of chess and build upon these ideas and skills in a positive, supportive learning environment.

PowerChess Summer Camps include the following activities: 

• Chess instruction: Tactical patterns, checkmating patterns, middle games ideas, and much more from trained PowerChess Coaches
• Tournament-length chess games
• Goal setting 
• Blitz games 
• How to improve chess study habits 
• Practice playing positions against other students
• Puzzle-solving contests
