Draper Rec Center Programs

Beginning on April 13th the Draper Rec Center will host two PowerChess programs: the PowerUp Chess program, an introductory chess program, on Thursday from 5:45-6:45 PM, and the Tournament Chess program from 7-8 PM.
The PowerUp Chess Program is perfect for the player just starting their journey to chess mastery, while the Tournament Chess Program will allow players familiar with chess to take their next step toward mastery, learning new tactical patterns and other critical chess concepts through a mix of instruction and chess play.
All classes will be taught by USCF Candidate Master, Powell Walker, using the proprietary PowerChess Curriculum.
Class Schedule:
April 13th – May 18th
PowerUp Chess Program Thursday from 5:45-6:45 PM
Tournament Chess Program Thursday from 7:00-8:00 PM
JL Sorensen Rec Center (Herriman)

Beginning Monday, May 8th from 7-8 PM PowerChess will run a 6-week Tournament Chess program at the JL Sorensen Rec Center.
This program is geared towards students who know the foundational principles of chess and want to take their chess to the next level by playing in weekly tournament chess games and learn new tactical patterns and other advanced chess patterns.
PowerChess suggests a USCF rating of at least 100 -1000 for this program.
This program will be taught by USCF Candidate Master, Powell Walker, using the proprietary PowerChess Curriculum.

May 8th – June 19th
Tournament Chess Program Mondays from 7:00-8:00 PM
South Davis Rec Center (Bountiful)

Beginning Tuesday, April 18th from 6-7 PM we will run a 6-week Tournament Chess program at the South Davis Rec Center.
This program is geared towards students who know the foundational principles of chess and want to take their chess to the next level by playing in weekly tournament chess games and learn new tactical patterns and other advanced chess patterns.
PowerChess suggests a USCF rating of at least 100 -1000 for this program.
This program will be taught by USCF Candidate Master, Powell Walker, using the proprietary PowerChess Curriculum.
