South Valley Leadership Academy Chess Program 14 Week Course- Spring 2024

PowerChess Tournament Chess is a program for students that have completed at least one semester of the PowerChess program or MUST have chess experience, including knowledge of how all the pieces move, an understanding of check, checkmate, and stalemate. Students can expect to play weekly tournament chess games and learn new tactical patterns that will enhance their knowledge of the game. This program is geared toward students who want to take their chess to the next level by practicing chess strategies in weekly tournament games against other students.

Included with this advanced PowerChess program is a premium GOLD membership to chesskid.com (a value of $30.00). Chesskid.com allows students to continue to build upon the skills taught in class through at-home lessons that cover advanced chess principles.

Prizes will be awarded for participation, advancement on the chesskid.com platform, and class tournaments.

Class Size Limited – 18 students.

The Class Schedule will follow the SVLA Spring Semester Schedule.
Meeting Wednesdays from 9:00-10:15AM.
