USCF sections will be dual rated
Sections may be combined to allow for maximum play
Prizes are awarded to the top player in each section.
Early bird registration begins today and is discounted at $30.00 until 11:59 PM on February 10th. Thereafter the fee will increase to $40.00 up until registration closing at 8:30 AM on Saturday, February 25th. Participants may still register onsite after 8:30 AM on Saturday but will have a first round bye. This policy has been implemented to ensure a prompt to start our PowerChess event.

2023 STATE SCHOLASTIC CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP - May 6, 2023
PowerChess is excited to announce the 2023 POWERCHESS Scholastic State Chess Championship to be held at the Copperview Recreation Center in Midvale, UT on May 6, 2023 from 9:00AM – 2:00PM. We expect this championship event to be a fun and spirited opportunity for students and schools across the state to come together to compete in an over-the-board state chess championship.
Sections are divided by age group 7&Under, 9&Under, 12&Under, and Over 12. Prizes will be awarded to the top players and school teams in each section. School team championships will be based on the top 4 players’ scores in each respective section, a three-player minimum is required to be eligible for team prizes. REGISTER today to be the first POWERCHESS SCHOLASTIC STATE CHAMPION.
